If you plan on using the cable in the mean time, set the Hz rate of the monitor to 60 for the time being. Generally they're not that expensive and can be easily replaced. In some cases, the cable will be a piece of junk and you'll end up needing to replace the cable. There IS, however, an issue regarding the Dual DVI cable that usually comes with the package. You CAN find some better quality screens for a bigger price tag, but as an entry level monitor, it's not half bad.

So far, it's a great product.Īs much as I use my PC for gaming and use in general, it's lasted this long with few major hiccups. I've had this monitor (now 3 in total) for a few months, almost a year for one of them. The good thing is, it has a standard mount holes at the back and lighter, and low amp. Too bad it doesn't have have speakers like my Playstation 3D monitor.
These manufacturers need to stop advertise DEAD technology with no future support on the market especially Nvidia. I will just use it like a regular monitor since the 120hz/144hz thing doesn't work on my computer GT70 880m with NVidia Vision 2, and several fake mini-db to Dual-link 3D cables. I have no choice but to keep this monitor. I really want to keep it to be used in my RV but it doesn't work like I wanted. Other than that, it is just like any other monitor. So, this monitor is only good if you have dual link DVI port from your computer to get the 120hz/144hz/3D. Some people are lucky to able to get 880m run. I asked around before I purchase this and they say yes. I also found out that it seems like NVidia doesn't list 880m as part of the GPU that support Vision. I am also returning NVidia Vision 2 since without a cable it wouldn't work on my MSI GT 70. I bought several of them so called "120hz" but every single one is a fake item that only run regular 60hz. I am requesting a refund and return this item since I couldn't find any mini-DP cable to DVI Dual-Link that runs 120hz or 144hz. Too bad monitor is not a real 120hz or 144hz. I guess I have to wait and check it out further before bumping the star. The manual is useless so does the driver. I bought on prime days (but this one is not discounted) and received it on 7/15/16. I am glad that I bought a warranty for the additional manufacturer warranty. The Acer monitor itself has VGA, DVI, and hdmi.DOA item. One thing to note is that I cannot use direct dual link DVI cable because my pc only has 2 displayports and 2 hdmi ports.

I suspect the problem might be not having the right monitor driver installed, but upon looking for the driver on the acer website, the download of the driver does not have anything that allows me to install the driver. I've also tried going into my NVIDIA control panel and the highest refresh rate is 60hz as well. When I go into my display settings > advanced display settings > display adapter properties > monitor, it recognizes my monitor as "Generic PnP Monitor", so the ability to change the screen refresh rate is capped at 60hz. This includes updating all my graphics card drivers, turning off/on, uninstalling monitor driver, etc. I've tried everything I could think of as well as other solutions I may have come by online, but nothing works. I bought a HDMI 2.0 cable, in order to run 144hz and I know that the monitor supports 144hz at 1920x1080, but it's not allowing me to for some reason. I recently just purchased an Acer GN246HL monitor along with the Corsair One (prebuilt PC).
